SHUNAN SA801Adhesive For Fixing Polystyrene Foam Boards - Dry mortar for ETIC System(External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems)

The function of this product is to fix the thermal insulation layer onto the wall,a grey powder adhesive. When mixed with water, it forms an adhesive specially indicated for spot bonding of insulating materials such as expanded polystyrene sheets and rock wool to construction supports.

UseShunan SA 801 is a cement based adhesive for fixing foamed polystyrene boards in external External Wall Insulation system. It can be used on typical mineral substrates such as concrete of all grades, aerated concrete, cement render, cement-lime render, sandstone, and rough surfaces made of bricks, blocks, hollow bricks and other similar ceramic or lime-sand materials. It is suitable for interior and exterior use.For fixing expanded polystyrene boards for thermal insulation of buildings,Ideal for joining polystyrene foam to construction supports, on concrete walls, brick partition walls, renders, filled walls with mortars and all the surfaces that require insulation

Properties:

 SA801 is a ready-to-use dry mix of top-quality cement binder, aggregates and modifying agents. It is efficient, convenient and easy to use. It is characterised by very good workability and easy forming as well as increased adhesion, elasticity and vapour permeability. It is frost-resistant and water-proof.

 Processing:   

     

    

                                  

  1. leave the bucket with the adhesive for several minutes, before mixing it

  2. mix the compounds thoroughly, on one hand manually, by using a trowel or mechanically, by using a drill mixer.

  3. use a trowel to apply mortar alongside the edges of the boards, as shown in the image. The thickness of the  adhesive shouldn’t  be  greater than 1”/2.5 cm, as otherwise you won’t be able to fix them properly on the concrete wall. If the wall surface has numerous irregularities, it is better to apply the mortar over the polystyrene boards, as shown in the image.   Basically, all you have to do is to apply six mounds of adhesive on the polystyrene sheet.

  4.After we have applied the adhesive on the polystyrene sheets, we have to install them horizontally on the concrete wall. Consequently, you should start fixing the boards from the bottom corner of the wall, using a full sheet.

  5. Continue installing the polystyrene sheets until you reach the end of the row. Make sure the edges of the boards   are aligned each other, as to make a professional job.

  6.  the next row should be installed vertically, as to give better strength to the insulation. Work carefully, as to make   sure the boards are level and aligned properly. If you need a smaller piece than a full board, you have to use a hand saw to make the cut.

 Remarks

 Only mix with water and no other addition

The temperature of air and glue must be from 5°C~35°C    

The glue must be used up in 3h

Avoid sunshine, high temperature and freeze-thaw

Avoid strong wind during application

The substrate should be sound, dry, flat, clean and durable

 Preparation

Clean the substrate with high pressure water

Remove the old paint and putty on the substrate

Frost should be avoided

Repair the crack or joint in the substrate. Next step at least 48H later

The surface must be leveled and the deviation must be less 4mm
